Welcome to the team Tim Dovbysh

Tim graduated from Otago University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and has since worked in private practice in both the South and North Islands of New Zealand. In 2014 he completed a certificate in orthopaedic manual therapy through NZMPA gaining skills in assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions including joint manipulation and mobilisation. In 2015 he completed the postgraduate diploma in musculoskeletal physiotherapy through the Auckland University of Technology and has currently progressed into Masters of Health Science programme conducting research with New Zealand Cricket.
In addition to his clinical work and research, Tim is an executive committee member for Sports Physiotherapy New Zealand. He also holds membership with Physiotherapy New Zealand, the Occupational Health special interest group, and the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapists Association.
Tim has provided acute injury cover for a variety of sporting events so is familiar with a range of sporting demands and their injuries. He has particular physiotherapy experience with rugby at club and representative level from Otago, Canterbury, Waikato, and Bay of Plenty. As a skilled sports physiotherapist he is able to transfer these practice principles across other sports or musculoskeletal disorders.
As well as musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, Tim has interests and experience in pain neuroscience, occupational health and workplace injuries, biomechanics, and dry needling.
Tim brings a manual therapy skill-set alongside a strong exercise-based rehabilitation emphasis as well as dry needling techniques, if required, to manage injuries through a thorough rehabilitation plan aimed at restoring full (and better!) function and preventing their recurrence. He has strengths in accessing and applying current and evidence-based practice principles to his clinical practise to ensure that everyone receives up to date treatment.
At times a team-approach is required so recommendations may be made to work alongside other healthcare colleagues such as general practitioners, nutritionists, podiatrists, sports physicians, strength and conditioning coaches/trainers, or surgeons.
We are thrilled to have Tim aboard the team !
